In which we finally find the camera.

Hurrah!! The camera has appeared. So here is a picture of my UK Swap parcel that I received ages ago. My spoilee was Bex and she did an excellent job putting my package together. Look see what I got!!

The dark green is Malabrigo laceweight and is soooo soft. 2 skeins of Artesano Alpaca, so lush. An Elizabeth Zimmerman book, the cutest stitch markers, a pen, pencil case and notebook. Some Lush goodness, kitty hi-lighters and some Green & Black organic chocolate which isn't in the picture (because I already ate it oops)

Thank you so much Bex, your choices were spot on for me and made me feel very spoiled.

Note to Self

Dear Self,

In future do not book 2 therapy type appointments for yourself on the same day. It will make you feel pants. Very, very pants!!

Love, Self. x

OK Where is it?

OK, long time no post. I have had some lovely Sock Club packages and other parcels lately, mainly from The Loopy Ewe. However I can't find the dang camera to take pictures!

But, trust me, it's all gorgeous!

Pictures when I find said camera.

I R Sad Cookie LOLCat

Your Score: Sad Cookie Cat

60% Affectionate, 40% Excitable, 62% Hungry

You are the classic Shakespearian tragedy of the lolcat universe. The sad story of a baking a cookie, succumbing to gluttony, and in turn consuming the very cookie that was to be offered. Bad grammar ensues.

Socks mainly, the odd scarf and sweaters sometimes.

Do you have a favourite project?
Socks. Although 1 of my knitting resolutions this year is to try lace. And Fair Isle.

Do you have a favourite type of fiber or brand of yarn?
Anything from Socktopus or The Loopy Ewe will always be a winner. As is Noro.

Acrylic, anything manmade and any type of novelty or fun fur yarn. I am a purist.

Do you do any other crafts?
Art Journaling.

What knitting do you bring ‘on the go’?
Socks. Always socks. (Noticing a trend here?)

What do you carry your ‘on the go’ knitting in?
I love knitting bags and have several. I am currently using a Namaste Executive Bag. Most projects also go into a Go Knits pouch or a Piddleloop bag.

Do you want something new?
I could do with another Go Knit pouch or a Piddleloop bag (wonderful project bags!)

Are there any knitting gifts (book, toy, yarn, item, tool) that you have been lusting over?
Knit Picks Harmony Needles. And I have an unhealthy collection of stitch markers which I like to add to.

Switzerland.

SOS

The lovely Alice at Socktopus has set up a new Sock Club called Season of Socks where you get a skein of sock yarn every month from the lines they carry. You get to choose your own colour palette too. How could I resist?? The sight of one of Alice's super shiny silver envelopes on the door mat this morning could only mean one thing; my first installment had arrived.

Here is what was in said silver parcel

Wow! Hand Maiden Casbah yarn in a beautiful golden brown / chestnut semi solid shade. Chocolate, sweeties and a free Socktopus stitchmarker. What a lovely array of goodies. Here is a close-up of that luscious yarn.

The picture really does not do the rich colours justice.

Catching up.

The weather here has been awful just lately, however it is a little brighter today, so I have taken a few pictures whilst the light is half decent.

First up

Another completed pair of socks. Although I must admit these did take me a little time. I cast on for them in September last year! I finished them on 7th January 2008. Not quite sure what went wrong and what took me so long to finish them.

The yarn is Claudias Hand Painted in "Sherbert" a lovely yarn. I used my generic toe up pattern and on the leg I used the scrolls pattern from More Sensational Knitted Socks by Charlene Schurch. Worked, as always on 2 x 2.5mm circulars.

Here is a close up of the stitch detail on the leg.

And finally this:

Can you tell what it is yet? Why yes it is in fact an Elizabeth Zimmerman Baby Surprise Jacket. You have to knit up one of these little things even if you do not have a baby to knit for. The construction is quite simply mind blowing. What a fantastic brain that lady must of had. Hoping to get this finished over the weekend. I am thinking of using an i-cord bind off around the edges after a friend recommended it.

I've Done It!!

Yay, at last after many long hours poring over the website, waiting for sneak ups, adding to the stash, hoping my parcel will arrive whilst Mr Loop is out, I can now reveal that I am officially, after a lot of hard work shopping, A Loopy Groupie!! Lookie See.

I am so pleased with myself. Pictures of the haul when they arrive.

First FO of 2008

I have finished my first pair of socks of 2008. I am a manic sock knitter and hopefully will finish many more pairs during the coming year.
Specs:
sKNITches Syncopation self-striping sock yarn.
100% Superwash Merino
Colourway: Planetary
Generic toe up pattern
Knit on 2 x 2.5mm / 60cm Addi circulars.
Yarn purchased from The Loopy Ewe
These were knitted over the Christmas holiday. It is a lovely yarn to knit with, being slightly thicker than a regular fingering weight, so they grew very fast. Would definitely use this yarn again.
